Mother tongue is both culture and heritage of the people. The native word is the first source through which we get to know life and the world around us. Every intelligent person should know and respect the language of the country in which his ancestors were born. Native language is one of the first means of distinguishing nationalities and cultures. The main thing for each of us, Belarusians, is to realize that language is really our wealth. It is our duty to know and protect it.
